Want to know what to pack for four days and four nights for a short trip to Cape Town?…
Well here goes, so last week I was in Cape Town. It was my first time traveling to South Africa and I have to say it was fabulous. We were in Cape Town for only FOUR nights. Which definitely isn’t long enough if you’re planning a trip over there. However it gave me a nice little taste of what the place was like and left me wanting to come back for more (i’ll fill you in on the country in my next post).
Now, I am the first to admit that when it comes to packing I always over pack! However, as I knew we were only going away for four nights I thought for the first time in my LIFE that I would plan ahead and pack four FULL outfits. Rather then just going with what I felt like on the day, which is what I usually do. I usually would pack wayyyy too many pairs of shoes and pieces that I never end up wearing.
Most importantly, planning your outfits ahead of time and packing lightly was SO much easier! Nonetheless, we had four key events so I knew exactly what I was going to wear each day. Which made getting ready (much to my husbands delight) half the time. WINNING.
So here are my tips for outfit planning ahead of the trip and a few key essential pieces I packed.
1. A Leather Jacket – It’s a wardrobe staple and can easily be worn over a dress, shirt, t-shirt and perfect for those cooler evenings. Besides that, it keeps you really warm.
2. Rebel Waite shirts – I packed only two shirts for this trip. The Olivia silk shirt in Navy for dinner and The Harper shirt in white as it’s slightly more casual which is perfect for throwing over a swimsuit or for strolling around the city.
3. Two dresses – One Zimmerman dress, which I absolutely love and picked up whilst I was in Australia at the start of the year. I also packed a dress by Maje which I bought in the summer sale at net-a-porter, which seemed perfect for the wedding we were attending.
4. A pair of trainers for travelling in and a couple of pairs of heels, two swimsuits and two pairs of shorts and that’s about it because what more could you need.
Cape Town is not that dressy so you can definitely get away with a more relaxed and casual look. 🙂
